Project Milestones

The following milestones span an approximately 4-8 month engagement (varies by size and complexity), focusing on secure, compliant IaC-based workload deployments.

Milestone 1: Kickoff & Discovery

• Conduct a thorough assessment of your current environment, compliance requirements, and technical constraints.

• Review existing architecture designs or IaC templates.

• Identify any gaps in security and compliance controls specific to your workloads.

Milestone 2: Design & Deployment

• Develop or refine the architectural blueprint that includes compliance guardrails (e.g., policy-as-code, role-based access controls).

• Prepare, build, and deploy a secure landing zone aligned with your compliance framework (e.g., PCI, FedRAMP, CJIS).

• Configure and test IaC modules to establish core networking, identity, and security baselines.

Milestone 3: Validation & Testing

• Demonstrate the new landing zone to relevant stakeholders, highlighting how compliance checks are embedded.

• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) with a representative business unit to validate both functionality and security.

• Fine-tune any IaC scripts or automation workflows based on feedback and test results.

Milestone 4: Project Handoff & Close-Out

• Provide a knowledge transfer session, including hands-on training for your team on how to manage and update the IaC resources.

• Deliver final documentation (e.g., technical design, compliance references, standard operating procedures).

• Offer optional Day 2 Services (Managed Cloud Services) for ongoing maintenance, security posture management, and compliance updates if needed.

Key Deliverables

By the end of this engagement, you’ll receive the following deliverables to ensure your workloads remain secure, compliant, and fully operational:

• A production-ready landing zone with built-in compliance measures for your critical workloads.

• Detailed architecture diagrams, compliance mappings, and configuration references aligned with your specific requirements.

• Reusable IaC templates (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and policies that can be applied across multiple environments or business units.

• Step-by-step instructions on how to deploy, update, and manage your landing zone, plus guidance on ongoing compliance checks.
